LGBTQ+ Retirement Study, Florida State University

Our research team at Florida State University is conducting an interview study that focuses on retirement planning among LGBTQ+ people in the US.  We are looking for people who can share their stories in Zoom interviews.  The interview will take about 60 minutes.  Each participant will receive a $20 Amazon gift card.  The project has been approved by FSU's Institutional Review Board.

We are looking for people who meet all of the following criteria:

(1) Identify as non-heterosexual or non-cisgender;

(2) age between 60 and 75;

(3) currently working; and

(4) live in the US.

Those who have previously retired are not eligible for the study, even if they are currently working.

In the interview, we will ask about your thoughts about your upcoming retirement, work history, and intimate relationships.  You do not need to have clear plans for retirement to participate in the study; we are interested in hearing about your ongoing thoughts and concerns.  We will keep the interviews confidential, and we will not collect any information that identifies you.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out an online form by following this link (https://fsu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7NGc09tYLabn27A) or scan the QR code in the flyer below.  If you have any questions about the study, please email the Principal Investigator, Dr. Koji Ueno at kueno@fsu.edu.  If you know people who might be interested in the study, please forward this study invitation and ask them to contact us.  Looking forward to hearing from you.
